In collaboration with Dr. Renata Ferreira at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), students in our lab collaborate on research in field sites in northeastern Brazil, and host visiting students from Dr. Ferreira’s lab at UFRN. Our research focuses on the behavioral ecology of capuchin monkeys, ranging from the rehabilitation and release of bearded capuchins (Sapajus libidinosus) to the study of habitat use and behavioral plasticity among blond capuchins (Sapajus flavius) in fragmented environments. These projects integrate investigation of individual behaviour, group movement and dynamics, habitat use, and wildlife welfare to test hypotheses in behavioural ecology and support conservation efforts in the region (such as ๐—ข๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฐฬง๐—ฎฬƒ๐—ผ ๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ท๐˜‚๐˜€).
